The Enfola promontory is connected to the mainland by a small
strip of land which forms two beaches: one on the North side
and one on the South side. It is known throughout Elba for
the old tuna factory, by now closed for 50 years but plainly
visible in the photo on the side. If you make an excursion
by foot around the promontory, you will find many underground
caves (bunkers) and look-out placements built by the Navy
during the Second World War.
